A postcard from Russia! The theme of the postcard is the 22nd Winter Olympic Games. The event will be held from 6 to 23 February 2014, in Sochi, Russia. Here is a postcard from the USA. This card shows the Anna Ruby Falls, which is located in Georgia. There is a National Recreation Trail (a designation given to existing trails that contribute to health, conservation, and recreation goals in the United States) near the waterfall area. The waterfall is actually a combination of 2 waterfalls from two separate streams.
Here are the stamps from the postcard. The first stamp was released in 1950, in order to honor the railroad engineers of the country. The man on the stamp is called Casey Jones. His dramatic death, trying to stop his train and save lives, made him a hero.
The second stamp was released in 1980. At that year, the Winter Olympic Games was held in Lake Placid in the USA. The last two stamps were all released in 2013, and they were from the series New England Coastal Lighthouses.

A postcard from the Netherlands. The kind of bird, according to the sender, is Kakapo, a kind of bird that could be found in New Zealand. This kind of bird is now critically endangered. More information could be found here: the post talking about the same bird before.

Another image of the stamp and cop found from another postcard from Taiwan. It is really a special mail chop, as the Rubber Duck visited Taiwan Taoyuan in October and November in 2013.

Another postcard from Taiwan! This postcard shows Formosan sika deer (台灣梅花鹿). This kind of deer could not be found in natural environment probably since 1969 due to the influence of human activities, like development, or killing of deer. Now you could find them in some zoos, and the amount of the deer is increasing. There is a great discussion on whether to release some deer back to the nature.

Here is a postcard from Taiwan! Taiwan used to be called “The Kingdom of Butterfly”. Approximately more than 400 kinds of butterflies could be found on Taiwan. Compare with Japan, the area is 10 times larger than Taiwan, but you could find only around 230 kinds of butterflies in Japan.

A postcard from Germany! This card actually shows an important historic event in the world. It is one of the paintings found on the Berlin Wall. The museum about the Berlin Wall is called East Side Gallery.
The vehicle on this painting is called The Trabant. It is an ironic East-German Car, as it was the most common vehicle in East Germany, and was also exported to countries both inside and outside the communist bloc. but the performance of this kind of car is really poor. It was often cited as a disadvantage of centralized planning. And also it is symbolized as the fall of East Germany.
The first stamp had been introduced before. And the second stamp was released in 2007. It is about the 75 Anniversary of the saale talsperre bleiloch (Saale Dam Bleiloch), umm, I guess is an important dam or reservoir built in Germany.
