A postcard from Taiwan! The card shows Shifen Falls(十分瀑布). This famous waterfall has a total height of 20 meters and 40 meters in width, making the waterfall the broadest one in Taiwan. It is a cascade waterfall in which the water flows in one direction and the rock is sloped in the opposite. The area was named as Shifen as there were originally ten families built their home there.
A postcard from Taiwan! It features Taipei 101, is a landmark skyscraper located in Xinyi District, Taipei, Taiwan. The building ranked officially as the world’s tallest from 2004 until the opening of the Burj Khalifa in Dubai in 2010. It started construction in 1999. The building is 508 meters high, with 101 floors.

A lovely postcard from Taiwan! The postcard shows Chinese Crested Tern 黑嘴端鳳頭燕鷗. It is a critically endangered species, and previously thought extinct. It is estimated that now there are around 50 birds of this kind in the world now. One of the living area of this kind of bird is Matsu Islands of Taiwan.
The stamp chop is really beautiful and therefore I show it here also. It shows the Songshan Airport of Taipei.

Another image of the stamp and cop found from another postcard from Taiwan. It is really a special mail chop, as the Rubber Duck visited Taiwan Taoyuan in October and November in 2013.
Another postcard from Taiwan! This postcard shows Formosan sika deer (台灣梅花鹿). This kind of deer could not be found in natural environment probably since 1969 due to the influence of human activities, like development, or killing of deer. Now you could find them in some zoos, and the amount of the deer is increasing. There is a great discussion on whether to release some deer back to the nature.
Here is a postcard from Taiwan! Taiwan used to be called “The Kingdom of Butterfly”. Approximately more than 400 kinds of butterflies could be found on Taiwan. Compare with Japan, the area is 10 times larger than Taiwan, but you could find only around 230 kinds of butterflies in Japan.

National Theater in Taipei, Taiwan. The building was completed in 1987, and it is next to the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall. With the National Concert Hall, they are two of the first major modern performing arts facilities to be established in Asia. The building recalls traditional elements of Chinese palace architecture, especially the buildings at the Forbidden City in Beijing, China.
