一次偶然的機會，踏足觀塘海濱長廊。這在二零一零年一月中開幕的海濱長廊，佔地不大，設備也不太豐富。但我想，這躺在海邊的小路，卻為觀塘這一工業區帶來一份寧靜，叫人可有機會遠離煩囂的都市，有機會靜靜地思想人生，有機會享受曾被高速公路及其他工業佔用的維港海濱。
一座靈感來自一疊疊回收廢紙及附近躉船起落架的塔樓，矗立於海濱長廊的入口處，作為對廢紙回收業為香港環境保護多年來的貢獻的一種致意。雖然這塔樓的造型，與德國藝術家麗貝卡．霍恩於西班牙巴塞隆拿矗立的作品「向小巴塞隆拿致敬」相近，惹起抄襲之疑，但亦無損欣賞這塔樓的雅緻。塔樓上的燈光，隨著背景音樂而變化，仿佛是「幻彩詠香江」的縮小版本；沒有大大的射燈，唯有換上從地底噴來的水霧，這卻營造出一種夢幻之意境，為這地增添一份浪漫。

From Kwun Tong Promenade in Hong Kong. The design of the tower in this garden is inspired by the piles of compressed recycled paper and the rusty metal lifting cranes of the barges that used to berth along the seafront of the site. That different kinds of light flashes and water vapour releases from the ground with background music adds a kind of romance to this small garden along the waterfront of Victoria Harbour.
